What Is the Best Hand in 3 Card Poker?

In 3 Card Poker, the best hand you can hope to get is a Straight Flush. This is when you have three cards of the same suit, in sequential order.

For example, if you had the Ace of Hearts, the King of Hearts, and the Queen of Hearts, that would be a Straight Flush. If you had the Ace of Diamonds, the Two of Diamonds, and the Three of Diamonds, that would also be a Straight Flush.

PRO TIP:The best hand in 3 Card Poker is a “mini-straight flush” or three consecutive cards of the same suit. This is the highest ranking hand possible and will beat any other combination of cards.

A Straight Flush is actually more likely to occur than you might think. In a standard deck of 52 cards, there are 4 suits (Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, Spades).

That means there are 12 possible Straight Flushes that can be dealt out (Ace-King-Queen in Hearts; Ace-King-Queen in Diamonds; Ace-King-Queen in Clubs; Ace-King-Queen in Spades; King-Queen-Jack in Hearts; King-Queen-Jack in Diamonds; King-Queen-Jack in Clubs; King-Queen-Jack in Spades; Queen-Jack-Ten in Hearts; Queen-Jack-Ten in Diamonds; Queen-Jack-Ten in Clubs; Queen-Jack-Ten in Spades).

The odds of being dealt a Straight Flush in 3 Card Poker are 1 in 498. So while it’s not the most common hand, it’s still something that you should be striving for when you play the game.
