Where Is the Casino Going to Be Built in Richmond Virginia?

The City of Richmond, Virginia is currently in the process of deciding where to build a new casino. There are three main sites that are being considered for the project: Shockoe Bottom, the Boulevard and Manchester.

Each location has its own pros and cons that the city is taking into consideration.

Shockoe Bottom is the most historic of the three locations being considered. It was the site of the original capital of the Confederacy during the Civil War.

The area has since been revitalized and is now home to a number of restaurants and businesses. The main downside to this location is that it is in a floodplain and would require extensive flood mitigation measures.

The Boulevard is a major thoroughfare that runs through Richmond. The area under consideration for the casino is currently vacant and would be easy to develop.

However, some people are concerned about increased traffic and crime in the area if a casino is built there.

Manchester is located just south of downtown Richmond, across the James River. It is a largely industrial area that has seen some recent redevelopment.

The main advantage of this location is that it is not in a residential area and would not displace any residents. However, it is far from any other attractions or businesses and would require significant investment to make it a viable option for visitors.

The City of Richmond is currently conducting a study to determine which of these three locations would be the best option for the new casino. A decision is expected to be made by early 2020.
