Which Card Slots Are Capable of Hosting an AVB 1 Card in a Tesira Server?

When it comes to AVB 1 cards and which card slots are capable of hosting them in a Tesira server, there are a few things to consider. The first is that not all AVB 1 cards are created equal.

There are currently two different types of AVB 1 cards on the market: those that support 64 channels and those that support 128 channels. While the 64-channel cards will work in any of the server’s card slots, the 128-channel cards will only work in the top two slots (1A and 1B).

The second thing to consider is that, while the Tesira server can host up to four AVB 1 cards, it can only use two of them at any given time. This means that, if you have four AVB 1 cards installed in your server, you will need to choose which two you want to use at any given time.

The other two will simply sit idle.

Finally, it’s important to note that the Tesira server does not support daisy-chaining of AVB 1 cards. This means that each AVB 1 card must be installed in its own slot and each slot must be connected directly to an Ethernet switch.

So, which card slots are capable of hosting an AVB 1 card in a Tesira server? All of them! However, if you want to use more than two cards at a time or if you want to use the 128-channel cards, then you’ll need to use the top two slots (1A and 1B).
