In December 2020, the Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians purchased the Seven Mile Casino in Chula Vista, California for $62.5 million.

The Rincon Band is a federally recognized tribe of Luiseño Indians based in San Diego County, California. The tribe owns and operates the Rincon Reservation, located in the northwestern corner of the county. .

The Seven Mile Casino purchase is the latest in a series of acquisitions made by the Rincon Band in recent years. In 2019, the tribe purchased the Valley View Casino & Hotel in Valley Center, California for $40 million.

The Valley View property includes a hotel, RV park, and events center in addition to the casino. Prior to that purchase, the Rincon Band also acquired Harrah’s Resort Southern California (formerly Harrah’s Rincon) in Valley Center for $160 million.

The Seven Mile Casino purchase was financed through a combination of cash on hand and loans from private lenders and the US government-backed Small Business Administration (SBA). The SBA loan was for $36 million and was used to purchase the real estate associated with the casino property.

The Rincon Band plans to invest approximately $10 million to renovate and rebrand the Seven Mile Casino property. The tribe also plans to add a hotel to the property in the future.

The Seven Mile Casino is located on 71 acres of land near Interstate 5 and State Route 54 in Chula Vista. The casino property includes a 39,000 square-foot casino with 750 slot machines and 20 table games, as well as a restaurant and bar.

The Rincon Band plans to keep all employees at the Seven Mile Casino property and is committed to supporting the local community through charitable donations and economic development initiatives.
