Bucky’s Casino in Prescott is closed because the company that owns it, Gila River Gaming Enterprises, Inc., has decided to permanently close the property.

The closure is effective immediately.

The company made the decision to close the casino after “careful consideration of the current market conditions and competition.”

Bucky’s Casino was originally opened in Prescott Valley in 1994. It was relocated to Prescott in 2001.

The casino had a hotel with 100 rooms, a conference center, and a RV park.

The closure of Bucky’s Casino will result in the loss of approximately 200 jobs. The employees were notified of the closure on Tuesday, March 14th.

The employees will be given a severance package and assistance with finding new jobs.

The closure of Bucky’s Casino is a major blow to the economy of Prescott. The casino generated $17 million in revenue for the city in 2016.

The city will also lose out on the property tax revenue that the casino generated.
