How Many Spell Slots Do I Have?

As a 1st-level character, you have 2 spell slots. At 2nd level, you gain two additional spell slots, for a total of four.

When you reach 3rd level in this class, you gain two more spell slots, for a total of six. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.

Your number of spells slots determines how many spells you can prepare and cast, as shown in the table. The table also shows what the level of those slots is; all of your spell slots are the same level.

To cast one of your prepared spells of 1st or 2nd level, you must expend a spell slot. Casting the spell doesn’t remove it from your list of prepared spells.

You prepare the list of sorcerer spells that are available for you to cast. To do so, choose a number of sorcerer spells from your Spellbook equal to your Charisma modifier + half your sorcerer level (rounded up), and prepare those spells.

You can change your list of prepared spells when you finish a long rest. Preparing a new list of sorcerer spells requires time spent studying your Spellbook and memorizing the incantations and gestures needed to cast the spell: at least 1 minute per spell level for each spell on your list.
