Spellcasting
To cast one of their warlock spells of 1st through 5th level, a warlock must expend a spell slot. For example, when a 3rd-level warlock casts blindness/deafness, they must expend one of their two 3rd-level spell slots.

Casting a 6th-level or higher spell requires two expended slots—one to cast the spell and another to hold its power. A warlock casts all of their spells as if they were Warlock Spells.

Cantrips
Warlocks know a number of cantrips, or 0-level spells, as noted on the table below. These spells are cast like any other spell, but they don’t require expending a spell slot and they can’t be boosted with Metamagic.

Warlocks choose their cantrips from the following list: acid splash, chill touch, eldritch blast, fire bolt, minor illusion, poison spray, prestidigitation, ray of frost, shocking grasp, true strike.
