A wizard can prepare a number of spells equal to her Intelligence modifier + her wizard level. She doesn’t have to prepare all of the spells in her spellbook, but she must choose which ones to prepare ahead of time.

To prepare a spell, a wizard must first study her spellbook. While studying, the wizard decides which spells to prepare.

A prepared spell is written in a special form in the wizard’s spellbook. It takes 10 minutes to copy a prepared spell into the book.

The wizard must be able to reference herspellbook when she casts a prepared spell.

At the end of each long rest, a wizard can choose to forget any number of spells that she has prepared. This does not remove the spells from her spellbook.

The forgotten spells are lost until she prepares them again.
