North Star Casino in Bowler, Wisconsin, is closed indefinitely after the Ho-Chunk Nation decided to close all of its casinos in the state. The closure comes as the state’s COVID-19 numbers continue to surge.

The decision to close North Star Casino was made by the Ho-Chunk Nation’s gaming commission. The closure will be in effect until further notice.

All other Ho-Chunk Nation casinos in Wisconsin, including Ho-Chunk Gaming Nekoosa and Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells, are also closed.

The closures come as the state of Wisconsin sees a surge in COVID-19 cases. As of Tuesday, November 17, Wisconsin has seen over 176,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and over 1,900 deaths.
